Instructional video used by US television stations in the lead-up to, and for sometime after the digital television switchover in February and June 2009. This clip was produced by the National Association of Broadcasters and features both English and Spanish subtitles.

ACMA, take note. You will have start doing this sort of thing from next year.

TasTV’s “Say Hello” campaign from 1987. Courtesy of jmancanberra.

At this time, TasTV was made up of TVT6 Hobart (Southern Tasmania) and TNT9 Launceston (Northern Tasmania), both owned by ENT Ltd. Around 2 years later, TNT9 was sold to what was then called Tricom (then Southern Cross Broadcasting, now Macquarie Southern Cross Media), and re-branded as such to Southern Cross Television. The name still exists today, but now affiliated to the Seven Network (with some Ten Network sport).

Incidentally, TasTV made a brief return to the north of the state thanks to aggregation in the mid-1990s. This was before ENT’s television stations were purchased by WIN Television, therefore sparking a rebrand to WIN TV Tasmania.

Love the “Say Hello” campaigns - oh so very cheesy. And I love cheese.
