Letter of Complaint sent to the ABC
As I mentioned on Twitter earlier, I sent an complaint to the ABC about the shoddy treatment Android users compared to iOS. Here is said letter:
To whom it may concern
As I am sure you are aware, the Android mobile platform has grown over the last 18 months, becoming equal to, and in some aspects, outpacing the Apple iOS platform in terms of users and handsets.
Then please explain why your application for the platform has not been updated for well over 2 years, and does not include features such as the streaming of News24 and the various radio services, TV and radio guides, podcasts, and so on.
You might also want to know that your app does not scale on devices such as the HTC Sensation - it only takes up around 40-50% of the screen. It looks awful and looks really bad on the Corporation.
As a taxpayer, I feel you should be treating all platforms with the respect you give the iOS, with that platform getting 14 applications, compared to Android’s one. Please either put out a new version that has the same features as the iOS version, or get rid of them all, follow the Fox Sports lead and have the one enhanced mobile site.
I look forward to hearing your response.
Kind regards,
Danny J. Palmer
